Naturists Campaigning for Naturism

Health Awareness

For those that know me, will also know of my love for BBC Radio 4, specifically its drama. Last night (March 21) I came across this monologue by Juliet Ace and especially written for Patricia Hodge. It is about a woman – Mattie – who has rebelled against conformity as a Royal Navy wife and  on her journey to becoming a writer, she has also shed her clothes.

True, it isn’t a laugh a minute but it is excellent writing and acting, and it gives a portrayal of naturism that is probably much closer to real life than a lot of the other “naturist” stories I’ve read or listened to. You are not told that Mattie is lying next to her friend naked on a beach somewhere, but the story implies it and your imagination does the rest. Marvellous.

This is 45 minutes well spent and its available on the BBC iPlayer for the next seven days.
